Uploading files on Phoca Download

I should describe you the huge amount of difficulties in installing Phoca Download

. But finally it was a succes...
Until I tried to upload files. Although the categories were created and appear clearly on the site via an appropriate menu and on the server (to be seen on filezilla), I meet problems on the file level.
First of all, the multiple upload doesn't work : after one file, the upload stops.
When I load a just one file, it seems to work : the file exists in the created directory (seen on Filezilla), but...the file doesn't appear in the filedirectory of Phoca Download.
Remark : I got also a problem with multiple upload in Phoca Gallery, which only works with the Java option.
Do you have any explanation / solution ?
Best regards

Hi, no explanation there, try to see if there is no javascript on your site, where the multiple upload is, testing the plupload in Phoca Gallery and Phoca Download without any problem, on many sites and test servers

Yes, the java upload can have some specific problems - search this forum to see them, but the javascript multiple upload seems to work ok

Hello,
Thanks for your first reaction.
I could upload with the java upload but not with the multiple upload. Do you mean that the java upload should be desactivated ? How do I do that ?

Hello Jan,
Sorry, I'll try to be clear :
I work with Phoca Gallery on one of my sites. In that case, the "normal" multiple upload doesn't work (just one file uploaded and than stop), but I can work pretty good with the java upload : works fine and quickly).
on the other hand, I also use Phoca Download. In this case, indeed no java upload, but the normal upload doesn't work either (same thing : I get just one file uploaded, and then it stops working).
I decided in the w
meanwhile to use Docman : no problems at all !
I like your products, which correspond entirely with my needs, but I regret the difficulties to install them (no way through the installation process of joomla), but now I know exactly what to do to get them installed.
Another little problem with Phoca Download : I don't see the label "Preview" , only the labels "details" and "Download".
Thanks for your help
André

Hi,
:: Phoca Download does not have any specific installation procedure, the component only include Joomla! standard XML for installing. It means, Phoca Download is installed by Joomla! not by itself, so in case of installation problems, then this is a question on joomla.org forum
:: Preview - must be enabled in parameters and there must be a file to be previewed - selected in File edit
:: upload - in Phoca Download, there were never the java upload applet (which is used by Phoca Gallery but has a lot of problems

) but you can select which method will plupload use (html5, flash, gears, ...) - if the plupload has some problems, you should check your site if it does not render some javascript problem which can affect all other javascript inclde the plupload

- so check your javascript console.

Ok, but, I only can give you what I see :
I agree :no java upload applet in Phoca Download (see my post), but anyway no selection between several upload methods...
In Phoca Galleries : idem, but happily enough for me, I can use the java upload applet, which works perfectly...
Sorry, but these are my experiences !
Where can I find my Javascript console ?

I found a possible explanation in a forum about Joomla. It seems to be a problem with Flashplayer 10. The problem should be solved with using a previous version but I don't find any older version to upload...

Hi, this was a knows issue of Flash Player 9 and 10. Flash player 9 worked with obsolete upload javascript but 10 not. This is why the obsolete upload javascript was changed to plupload - Plupload works with all latest flash players.
