Just installed and tested your great phoco gallery 3.0.1 beta - I like it a lot--- thanks

Since I don't want that all new images are stored in only few folders I want to provided defined folder for each subcategory

Question: Fronted user can't create folders when they defined a new subcategories - right?

At the Back-end - When I want to change the name of the folder where images of an subcategories are stored in (after images are already uploads..) phoco gallery does not find this images any more... Why? How can I change the name of a folder when images are allredy uploaded?

Hi, you can set the folder name for the future using, not backward, the path then will not work.
See this forum for more information, Phoca Gallery uses independent file and database layer, so the folder does not need to be defined, you define it only for frontend user uploading to know where users upload the images:

OK- here is waht I planed to do:
I´m trying to put together a Site where users can manage the Site just form the front-end... Photos should be organized with the Phoca Gallery... I also have the JCE Editor installed and images will be put in articles by using this editor - so it seems to be imported, that the images will be organizes also on the server Hard disk in a way that images can be found easily... Thats why I want to setup for every category and for every subcategory a separate folder... I plan to defined dummy Categories so that the users just rename this existing dummy categories in the names they want to us - if they need an new Categorie...
Now I thought I could rename the Folders for this renames dummy categories afterwards in Back end.. But this seems not be possible...

Do you understand my problem? Do you have an idea?? Thanks

Well - if users with certain rights (e.g. publisher) could not just create categories but also create actually folders by front end access --- than this would be a wonderful solution...

I just checked how it is done in the joomgallery: there when a categories or subcategories is created at the came time a folder or sub folder is created by the system on the server. That would be also in very good solution for the phoca gallery. If a gallery is used mainly by front end users it is just important that the upload of images not get a mess over time...
You think you can implement this feature in the future? would be great because i love your gallery - Thanks
