multiple add page get longer and longer

After I have uploaded some pictures with "multiple add" and saved them in the category the page does not get emptied. Every time I now upload more photos that page gets longer and longer and and cannot find the right photos to tick to move into the categories.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does this page normally get empty after the photos have moved to the category? If yes at least I know its an error on my setup and I can investigate more

the main display shows all photos added to categories. In one of the colums (second to last) you should see to which category those photos belong. You can filter per category (like you can with articles and sections etc.)
When you added photos you should be redirected to the main gallery page, where you see all your photos which are in the gallery (including the added)
I hope this helps

The problem only happens when I click "Multiply add". I get a list of ALL the photos already added/uploaded. Then I upload 5 new once and I have to find these 5 news ones in a list of several hundred. On the Multiple Add page is no way to filter by gallery.
I have a another website with several thousand photos and without this problem solved I cannot use this component.

Hi,
when I click multiple add, I see the list of files and folders which are in [root]/images/Phocagallery on the server. (In my case this is 8 folders)
Next I can select those files and choose a category. And then I click save. Phoca Gallery creates thumbnails and so they are in the gallery.
You can maybe post a screenshot of what you see, then we can see whether or not it is normal behaviour.

Slowly I start to understand what is happening and I see that this seems to be the normal behaviour. I am used to have a upload folder that then gets cleared when the images are moved into their gallery. But with this component the galleries only exist in the database and you end up with a folder of thousands of file.
This is a bit unusual and even if I can live with the fact that I have to create a gallery and manually create a folder for each one I am not sure if my clients will understand this.
I will play with it a little more now where I understand what's happening but I am not sure if this will be the right component for me. Thanks for the help and the patience.

The main advantage of this is that you can add a picture more than once to a gallery (category). You can upload your pictures via FTP or via the media manager. When you think about adding 1000 pictures, I advise you to upload them in folders and via multiple add you can add directly a folder (by selecting a folder instead of the images within that folder), which becomes a category.

Why do you have to create folders? The structure on the server can be completely different from the structure in the gallery.

To add the photos directly to a folder and then just link that folder to a gallery did not occur to me. But that sound rather logic. I will give the another try as I do like our gallery and would prefer to use it.
