Not able to create a menu link

Joomla 1.5.23
PhocaGallery 2.7.8
I'm not able to create a new menu item if it's related to Phoca Gallery any more. I used to do it, many times, but something has gone wrong. I can still delete them and modify them, also create menu links to articles etc. - but not add a new link to my gallery. My browser just shows an error page (no Joomla error).
