Trying to get SEF download links, need some pointers.

I have a single section and multiple categories, SEF links are enabled in joomla and there is a .htaccess file on the webserver.
The .htaccess file looks right according to earlier posts by Jan.

There is a visible/published menu item link to the section: [mainmenu]--->service--->help--->nameofsection

I would like the download URL to look like this, now it only gives me a 500 error:
http://www.domain.com/service/help/name ... /filetitle

Download URL is currently working using:
http://www.domain.com/service/help/name ... 3filetitle

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Appreciate any help!

I created another menu item for one of the phoca category, and another for a specific phoca file.

This URL now displays a file layout with a download button.
www.domain.com/nameofsection/filetitle

I would still like this URL to initiate a download, and hopefully also trigger a download count
http://www.domain.com/service/help/name ... /filetitle

Hi, then you need to customize the link, like you can view in the category view - to get all the parameters such link must have.
