Hello

I've been using Phoca in several websites
Allways working great
f.e http://sah.wico.be/media/foto-2010-2011.html

Now I'm preparing a site (testing fase), but cannot get a image for the category in stead of the folder icon
Have the same settings as in the other sites ...don't get it.
Would like to show it to the client, but with images in stead of folder icon...

Have set in Categorie view settings (List of categories)
Display Category style : categories and images

http://www.gert-kwanten.be/joomla2/inde ... &Itemid=54 and then click on PHOCATEST

Suggestions?

Hi,
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Category View Settings (List of Images) -->
Display image instead of folder icon=Yes
Save your settings!
Kind regards,
Benno

Hello

The parameters are just a little bit different then in the prvious version I used in other sites.

I was looking for that in Categories View Settings (List of Categories), because I was thinking this is a list of categroies...

At the parameters of Category View Settings (List of Images) I hadn't it activated, because I was thinking that was for the images itself, and there I saw images...

Thanks anyway, don' understand why I didn't saw it for myself3...getting old probably??

Thx Benno !

Hello!
I've set 'Images instead of folder icon' to yes, but if a category has subcategories and there are only images in the subcategories and no images in the parent category, the parent category has a folder icon. I'd like to get an image from the subcategories instead of folder icon. Is there any solution for that?
Thank you!
AndrĂ¡s

@fodinet
Is there any solution for that?
Yes, see: 1. Image representing a gallery (category) https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... t/511-tips
[...]If you want to display an image as category icon and you don't want to display such image in list of category, then you set the first image as unauthorized. Such image will be displayed as category icon but will be not displayed in list of images.[...]
Kind regards,
Benno

Hallo,

it seems that the tip

Image representing a gallery (category)
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... t/511-tips

doesn't work for me.

PhocaGallery 4.1.2
Joomla 3.4.1

Thanks for any suggestion,
Daniele

Hi, what exactly does not work for you?

Image from the category - it can be random image but even an image with specific ordering (e.g. first image from the category will be set). If you want to display an image as category icon and you don't want to display such image in list of category, then you set the first image as unauthorized. Such image will be displayed as category icon but will be not displayed in list of images. (Don't forget to set right ordering of images which should be selected as folder icon, if you have unauthorized first image, then the ordering must be ordered by ordering, so the first unauthorized image will be selected)
Following the documentation above, if I set one image of one category as UNAUTHORIZED, this image will NOT be displayed as category icon.

Thanks,

Daniele

Hi,
then you set the first image as unauthorized.
means, you need to set the first image of this category as unauthorized.

Kind regards,
Benno
