Hello,

I need to copy (not move) an image to a new category:

For example I have category "TEST" with 1.jpg
I want to create a new category, for example "TEST2" where copy 1.jpg with same description, text etc etc.

This is for unpubblish for example image in TEST but publish in TEST2 or If I need pubblish in both catagory.

What I can do for it?

tks
Giorgio

Hi, there is no copy/move features. :-(

You can add the same image to other categories with multiple add function (then there will be two images but they will use one original image with the same thumbnails - but description, etc. must be newly done)

Hi, added into feature request list (but really no idea when I find time for looking at it)

I would consider copying an image to multiple categories to be an absolutely essential feature. I wish I had known Phoca did not have this, before I installed. Nevertheless, if you add this, it will be perfect. I'd be willing to pay to have it added.

One thing I now understand is that you can have the same image in multiple categories, but you must use the 'New' image button, then pick an existing image, and pick the different category. That's good, but if you are dealing with hundreds of images, there must be a better solution, either in changing the categories column in the database to allow multiple categories per image, with a multi-select box in the admin, or a Copy button, as mentioned.

Hi, for such solution, maybe you need to use phpMyAdmin, etc.

Hi Jan, thanks for your reply, and all your great work! A database hack alone would not do it, I think. Is there a reason why you would hesitate to add this functionality? Would it negatively impact some other function?

Hi,

- first it is time issue (I am overloaded for now :-( )
- second - there can be some memory problems while copying and testing for existing image, thumbnail, etc. etc.
- third - there is multiple add - quickly function to easily add the image to more categories if needed

But of course the main problem is "first" not the other two :-( :-( :-(, the second and third only make the time demanding higher :-(
