Google is indexing the wrong URL for a few pages

I just have installed Phoca SEF added the code to the error.php page but now I am not sure if I have understood how to use this and if it can help me with a problem I have. I have Statcounter installed on my site, and I can track its visitors. I can see there are pages that Google is indexing with the wrong URL. For instance, the page:

http://www.rominachirre.com/articulos/c ... erico.html

Is being indexed like this:

http://www.rominachirre.com/articulos/t ... erico.html

Would Phoca SEF help me redirect people from the wrong URL created by Google (even if it shows no 404 errors) to the right one? I have tried adding a new Phoca SEF item but it's not working. This is what I did:

As per the instructions for Phoca SEF I see I should not use the http:// or the / on the right. This is what I did:

1. I went to Components > Phoca SEF > Control Panel
2. Clicked on "Redirect Site" tab
3. Clicked on "New"
4. For "Obsolote site" I put "articulos/tutorial-joomla-sitio-varios-idiomas/item/218-como-escribir-acentos-tildes-sin-teclado-numerico/218-como-escribir-acentos-tildes-sin-teclado-numerico.html"
5. For new site I put "index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=218" (which is the index.php URL for the menu item linked to my article).
6. I published the new item.

But when I go to the old link (the wrong one) is not redirecting me to the right page. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks a million in advance.

Hi, Phoca SEF only redirects sites which get 404, it means, if on your old site there is some content this will be not redirected. The site needs to go to 404 (the site does not exist) so it can be redirected.

Oh, thanks a lot for your reply Jan. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out one day why Google keeps doing that and if there is a way for me to prevent it. Your plugin is great and is helping me a lot with the 404 error pages. I appreciate all your effort and time spent on this to help us. Thanks, Jan and I wish you a great day :)
