Image Gallery

Is there a way to display a different image thumbnail than the one that comes up when you select it?

For example:

I click on a face of an ahtlete (thumbnail). It opens a large image of the athlete's card with the front of the card and the back of the card next to eachother as a single image.

Thanks,

David

Simplest solution is to make the front and back of the card a single image and create your own thumbnail corresponding to each image.

That seems like such a manual process and it doesn't scale. If you look at the Video component, you can select a video and link a thumbnail to it. I wonder why then you can't do the same for images. Upload the large image and select/browse/create a different thumbnail, all from the UI. Am I missing something? Can I do this today?

Hi, in Phoca Gallery there are three different thumbnails:

- large
- medium
- small

see documentation where all the different thumbnails sizes are used.

There is no online creating of thumbnails (thumbnails are created in admin and in front the created are used) because Phoca Gallery as open source project can be used on different servers with different count of images. In case site uses a lof of images (which is common while using Phoca Gallery), creating thumbnails online will stop/crash the server because creating thumbnails is memory demanding.
