[Feature Request] Facebook album import/integration
Posted: 27 Nov 2010, 01:02
I am preparing to launch a rework of a martial arts website and am intending on using several different "Phoca Apps". One application I think is not entirely intuitive is the Phoca Gallery. We have considerable Facebook following and I was really interested in using the "QGallery" by NetQ Creataive Software. What I like about QGallery is if we make any changes to our Facebook albums, they are immediately reflected on our actual website. The fact every time we utilize the "Multiple Add" in PhocaGallery, after we have selected and uploaded the 50-whatnot numbver of new photos, we ALSO see listed ALL previous photos we've uploaded...and have to dig through a haystack to find the ones we just uploaded and check their boxes...is confusing as all get out. We've come to find we don't really like any back end image management solutions within Joomla extensions.
We like Facebook.
We'd like to be able to manage albums/images within Facebook, but have those nicely displayed on our website, without any administrative interaction, as well. QGallery accomplishes that, but not "nicely". Once you have configured to sync a QGallery album with Facebook, any new or deleted photoes are instantly reflected on the main website. However, the out put is ugly. Seriously, the CSS formatting is horrible. The output of the component albums/images looks like about the quality an extreme web novice would come up with.
PhocaGallery is far more polished and aesthetically appealing on the front end...by a lot. We have gone so far as to attempt to take the PhocaGallery CSS and migrate it to the QGallery solution. Ultimately, we'd love our QGallery output to look just like PhocaGallery does - but we don't want the confusing backend image management interface that PhocaGallery possesses.
Is there any possibility that PhocaGallery might consider developing a "Facebook integration" version of its product? If you're at all familiar with QGallery, I would have to think you could come up with a much better solution and blow them out of the water.
Thanks in advance.
