i cannot create a link to the phoca gallery, when i click save or apply, i get dumped back out to the menu manager, not the edit menu items page inside the menu...
the Link i was trying to create isnt created either.

i can create any other menu link type, just not phoca links.

have just updated my site to 1.5.21
downloaded the latest phocagellery - 2.7.5

installed with no errors, added category and pictures to the category.
so not sure what the go is...
i tryed to re-install the component, no change...
when i goto the phoca info page, i have a few red lines,

Enable Thumbnails Creation Disabled enabled
Pagination Thumbnail Creation Enabled Disabled
PHP Settings Parameter allow_url_fopen (Needs not to be enabled if cURL functions are enabled) Enabled Disabled

but these should be no issue though with these, because i want it to do this...

any ideas?

Same Problem here.
I have update joomla to 1.5.22.
Any Settings in the backend (create menu link or edit one link) do not apply in the frontend.

Hi, menu links are manages by Joomla! framework, Joomla! framwork takes the views and xml from extensions. If you have upgraded Joomla! and then you are not able to save Phoca Menu link, maybe this should be a question on forum.joomla.org (as while upgrading joomla e.g. xml of Phoca Gallery is not changed, so there cannot be a problem)

But no expreriences, I am testing on all different servers with latest Joomla! 1.5.22 and get no such problem

Do you get some error message? Did you enable php error reporiting and debug mode?

nope, no errors....
i did not have phoca installed before the upgrade. so i cannot say its just because of the upgrade... but going off GerhardSchr post, his issues lined up with the upgrade.
i am sorry if my original post led you to beleive phoca was installed before...my bad

in relation to the statement about chasing joomla forums,

i get that, however phoca is an addon to joomla... and nothing else is failing...
so you get my reason for hitting your forums...

so you have no issues with a fresh install of 1.5.22 with the phoca version 2.7.5?

can you try install9ing 1.5.21 then, adding the patch from 1.5.21 to 1.5.22 and see if it causes the same issue on the phoca 2.7.5.

i agree with GerhardSchr, re-installation of joomla is not a good idea for us...but may have to...

Hi, no problems with 1.5.22

Installing 1.5.21 and then using patch, means the same like copying the 1.5.22, so the same like above, no problem there

I only know, users with suhosin enabled, had such problem , see:

same problem here, some details:

Joomla and phoca installed on localhost: no problem at all at menu creating

After page data and database have been transferred to remote server,: no menu creation possible, while the install is the just the same as before

Circumventig the problem: I create the menus on localhost, transfer the folders via ftp, then replace the database by phpmyadmin. A bit tiresome, but gives me a 100% backup.

IMHO phoca is sensitive to some obscure remote server setting, though I dont know about suhosin, havent got any info on that setting.

Since simple file and database transfer happens, the two pages (localhost and remote server) should be exactly similar.

However, a menu item link on localhost looks like this:

http://localhost/nadorgyor/index.php?op ... Itemid=116

the same menu item link on remote server looks:

http://www.nadorgyor.hu/nadorgyor/dunaszerdahely-2009


So it seems that the remote server does some translation on the same input data. Could this be a cause?

hmm i only edit joomla on the server, so the server(s) is(are) not the problem...
