newbie questions

Just started using Phoca Gallery and finding it overwhelming with all the possible settings. Spent a few hours in the parameters section in control panel. All I have installed is the component so far as I am not sure what I need. here is what I am looking to do

set up a simple photo gallery link from my main menu that simply shows some fun images. I got that to work OK so far. However I want to show a brief description of where this is/when it was, etc when clicking on the comment icon, or something to that affect. And I only want me as the administrator to be able to do this as I don't want comments from others allowed here, not even registered users. How do I do this?

Next I want to set up another gallery which links from my main menu that shows some products. I want to put a brief price and model # on the image, which I figured out how to do by enabling the "display image description in box" item. However when I mouse over that image I would like to have a more detailed description of the product. OR if that doesn' work then a way to say click on the comment icon and have it display that description. However again it can only be the administrator that can post that comment. Also this is all att he thimbnail level. If someone clicks on the image all I want is the enlarged image as it works today

Can this be done and if so how? If not I can use phoca gallery soley for the fun gallery if somone can suggest a better option or product that will do what I need for the product section

Thanks Doug

Hi, if you want comment a photo as administrator only, just past your comment into description.

Hi, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ing-images

some servers have problems with specific characters in file names, so only the basic characters should be used if there is such problem.
