I got a problem to generate a email notification after a new entry.
I read in your documentation that link Email Settings posted by Arco in forum, but still 2 messages apear
1. Could not instantiate mail function. (read background) no email received.
2. Thank you for your entry, message will be displayed after the Administrator has reviewed it (blue background) what seems to be ok.

I switched on the debug mode but couldn`t locate the source of problem. Could it be that it is related to yahoo hosting (linux based) Search engine friendly URL is not suported by yahoo, as mod _rewrite doesn`t work under yahoo.

Do you got any inovativ turn arrounds to get e-mail notification when new guest book entry was done to get it working properly ?

Hi,

1) this is a problem of your email settings in your global configuration
2) in parameters there is set, that first the posts will be authorized by administrator before displaying them in frontend, you can set it in parameters.

I have this problem too, but my smtp settings(global settings) is correct, and all other mails from my site is working good. But mails from Your guestion book is not comming.

What can it be?

But mostly if you get this: Could not instantiate mail function.

the Phoca Guestbook added all the correct infos to the Joomla! mail function, which then has problems with using the mail settings set in global configuration

I made it in menu, and now i have next problem, when i adding some message in guest book
error "PHPMAILER_FROM_FAILEDddd@yandex.ru"

I want to use only smtp mail function, with autorisation.

The problem in that the guest book trying to send the message to administrator from mail, wich was writen by user, but all mails must come only from special mail(work55555@yandex.ru), wich using in the configuration. In my case - work55555@yandex.ru.
But user's mails adress are can be included in the mail body.All mails must be send from only work55555@yandex.ru.

Hi, not sure what is wrong on your site, there is from field which will be filled by user's mail if set but the mail is sent from the account which is set in global configuration (means your global configuration mail should be used )
