Phoca Gallery (2.5 / 2.75, Joomla 1.5.15) was working properly for months. Then, in a new category I have tried to include images. While automatically creating thumbs it stopps with error. Since this in the image folder of phoca "Thumbnail Creation Status" is disabled (a red [X]).
In the settings (Menu -> Gallery -> Components) the thumbnail creation settings are all by "Yes"..!
And even I tried to "Recreate Tumbnails" with 1 image in an older (proper) category -> thumb was deletet an also the image itself in front end album!
PS: No error occurs while recreate: (immediately) I get the message "Thumbnail deleted and recreated".
I asked my provider any days ago: GD Library is working correctly.

How I can turn the Thumbnail Creation to work?
Has anyone any ideas or suggestions ???

Have you tried both options?
1. backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Thumbnail Creation Settings --> Enable Thumbnails Creation =Yes
2. backend --> Menus --> Your Menu with Link to Phoca Gallery Component --> Your Link to Phoca Gallery Component --> Menu Item: [ Edit ] --> Parameters (Component) --> Thumbnail Creation Settings -->
Enable Thumbnails Creation=(Should be) Use Global
Attention option 2 is able to overwrite option 1.
Both settings of this options are stored in the database. Therefore, the third option is to change it there. But be careful, do this only if you are familiar with it and make a database backup before.

I have no menu point like 'Parameters' - there are only in the menu tab:
* Control Panel
* Bilder
* Kategorien
* Themes
* Category Rating
* Image Rating
* Category Comments
* Image Comments
* Users
* Info
All this options also exist as icon in this site content. Where is the link to 'Parameters' ?

Um den sehen zu können mußt Du als Super Admistrtor eingeloggt sein:

Das Problem fehlender Parameters Button ist hier schon mehrfach Thema gewesen.
Mußt Du mal mit der Suchfunktion suchen.

Vielen Dank für den Tipp! Ich war tatsächlich als Administrator in Jooma - und nicht als Super-Administrator (dein Screenshot brachte mich da drauf!). 'Nur' als Admin erscheint das Icon 'Einstellungen' nicht im Phoca Control Panel...
In 'menü->Galleriename->Komponentenparameter' gibt's zwar genau die gleichen Einstellmöglichkeiten - da waren ja auch
"Pagination Thumbnail Creation", "Clean Thumbnails" und "Enable Thumbnails Creation" alle auf Ja gestellt, aber eben: es nützte nichts!

thank you for this useful hint! in fact it was really so that I lost Super-Administrator. Logged in as Administrator in Joomla the "Settings" icon in phoca control panel does not appear - and the same settings in 'menu->gallery->Components' does not effect...
Now I created in database/SQL a new super-admin and settings works: thumbnail creation status is 'On' really!
