Where are the files related to "force download"

Hello,
I've noticed PD brilliantly manage to force the opening of the download dialog, even though the browser is configure to open the mime-type inside itself.
I'd like to have a look at this code (php header function I guess ?) to learn new stuff.
Could you tell me where it is located ? I really can't find it.
