I'm having no luck uploading images to my phoca gallery.

Before I started, I simplified the image file names, removing all spaces in the title. Then I trimmed the jpeg images down to manageable sizes well within the acceptable dimensions, and at 72 dpi.

After creating the Category, I went to IMAGES and browsed to the location of the images on my computer and clicked "upload."

When done what I had was a blue square with a question mark in the middle. When I look at the images in the Phoca Gallery Images, each one is a light grey box.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, did you read the documentation. Do you have problems with uploading images or adding them to the system? Which upload method you are using - did you try other one - e.g. ftp, java upload, single upload ...

I am using Phoca Gallery to upload images.

Hi, which method? - single upload, flash upload, java upload? - in admin or in front?

I'm manually uploading images with Phoca one at a time.

I uploaded about 50 images successfully, but when I came back to it several weeks later to upload more, that's when the question marks began to appear on every attempt, regardless whether I used Phoca or a stand alone ftp application. posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=10702#

Here's an interesting aspect to my problem:

When I go to the image directly in my browser (http://ugandatreeoflifeministries.org/i ... da0901.jpg), I see the image and it appears normal.

When I go to url/administrator/login > components > phoca gallery > images ...the images which uploaded as blue question marks, are shown as light grey squares.

Still not resolved.

I tried uploading .png files, but they generate blue question marks too.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong...not checking a box...skipping an important step...something.

Can someone suggest a simple test, a basic series of steps I can use to test the Phoca Gallery.

I think I fixed my problem.

Someone said to go to parameters in the Control Panel and make sure thumbnail creation was set to "ON." It was off, and now everything seems to be working great.
