When i make a new menuitem to phoca gallery, and press save, it does not save, it just disappear.

take a look with eg. phpMyAdmin to the table jos_menu in your database if your menu item is stored there.
The link to your categories view is:
your_domain.xx/index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=categories

if you are familiar with database programming, you can do perhaps this table entry by hand.
But make a database backup before!
