i am using shadow box for detailed view, but it always shows the thumbnail image (.../thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_44.jpg).
Is there a way to get the "full image" displayed (/44.jpg) ?!

No, not with shadow box. Highslide JS(Image Only) has this feature. It´s called Highslide Full Image there.
