I wish to offer one more very important improvement!
I believe that will be very useful to make removal uploaded images, because to delete images on FTP it is not so convenient!

You can go into the media manager of Joomla and delete the uploaded images that way. I do it that way rather then through the FTP software.

Media Manager and navigate to your uploaded images, select the one(s) to delete and delete them. There is no "catch all" button that will do it but through the Media Manager it will work.
