If you cannot view the gallery list, you can install the Phoca Gallery again or do the tables manually again...

ok...so i manually did the tables again....and it said that the SQL was successfully executed. UNfortunately this did not work. So then i tried running the script in the jos_phocagallery but got this error:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `jos__phocagallery`' at line 4

Still nothing works.....

Just change it from:

jos__phocagallery

to

jos_phocagallery

(there is #__ because of system installation but without system installation you need only jos_ not jos__ )

I came back to my website today, and found that both the front end and back end are visible. So i tried to make galleries again, and i have learned some useful things:

1. The "Blank Screen" appears if you try to do too much at a time. For example, on folder had some 2MB pictures in it. Also, i tried to Multiple Add five folders at a time to one category. This can make the server work too hard and give you the blank screen.

2. If you do get the "Blank Screen" it may be possible to hit the "Back" browser button and try to correct the problem before proceeding. For example, using FTP to delete some images, or de-selecting some folders.

3. It is likely that the Menu Items will not work properly after a "Blank Screen" issue, so these will need to be re-made, in the usual way.

Hope this helps people who have found problems after building a large collection of pictures as I have done.

I think I have a similar problem because my localhost site works beautifully but I cannot get thumbs on my live site. It created two thumbs but no more using v1.6.4. I uninstalled and tried again. This time, no thumbs at all but all setting were to create thumbs. I uninstalled and installed v1.6.3 which is what I had on my localhost site but still no thumbs BUT it has installed all my pictures twice which makes me think it is trying to create the thumbs but can't.
I suspect this is a hosting problem but where do I check the GD file? I'm not sure where to find it.

Did you see the GD info? Help - System Info - PHP Information - GD information...

Do you have permissions to write data on disc?

I've found the GD information but apart from everything saying "enabled", I don't know what I'm looking for...
I had to uninstall my "cheat" thumbs from the server because I needed to put other pictures on so I'm back to being thumb-less. Unfortunately, the website really needs them. Any other suggestions, because I love Phoca when it works.
