Wow the registration process to this forum is a pain in the neck

the security image is hard to read, and while the anti-spam math part is decent, sometimes it throws in a question that is geography or something .. by the time I got the security image right, I got the anti-spam question wrong... 14 tries later, I'm in!

holy cow...
Anyway ..
I see it's been several months and the java issue is still present, the flash upload doesn't work for me at all ... and FTP is out of the question because I'm developing the site for senior citizens (yeah, I said it) .. teaching them the CMS was hard enough, throwing FTP at them is a bit overkill .. there was a drupal project having this issue a long time ago and they solved it by changing the way they implemented it.. it seems this error is usually implementation, not the applet itself.
As for the flash upload... I click browse files and it just sits there doing nothing.. though flash works fine..
Has there been any headway whatsoever on solving this? or is it just "wait for a joomla upgrade" or "wait for a new applet"

Hi,
Wow the registration process to this forum is a pain in the neck
the fighting against spammers, hackers, etc. is more complicated
Flash Upload - I am waiting for solution which will be used in Joomla! (as the flash upload uses Joomla! core libraries), so first it needs to be working in Joomla! then I can implement it in Phoca Gallery
Java Upload - As I am not developer of the Java Upload script, I can do nothing with this script. Is there should be an error in using this upload script, will be great if someone will find solution how to fix it (I still didn't find any solution - I have changed and fixed in several times but everytime on some server some other or the same error appers

)

Hi, I do have the same problems as well.
Getting "wjhk.jupload2.policies.PictureUploadPolicy.checkUploadSuccess(): The string "^SUCCESS$" was not found in the response body" by trying to use the java uploader. Am using PhocaGallery 2.6.2 (Upgrade from 2.6.1) and Joomla 1.5.15.
Could it have something to do with the wwwrun-Problem?
As long as the flash uploader doesn't work as well with the latest flash player, there seems to be no chance other than uploading only single pictures.
Is there any other possibility to do a multiple file upload somehow? E.g. with another module / component?

Try to check the size of images, if there is a large image and you will get some php error (e.g. fatal memory error), then the success string will be not returned

Hi, mostly the only reason why not success is returned, is the time fatal error, so java applet get no response from server - try to test your php settings (memory) try to upload smaller image.

Hi all,
I'm experiencing the same problems. Worked fine under Joomla 1.5.15 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. Now i use Joomla 1.5.17 and get the "SUCCESS" error. Image size has nothing to do with it. Tried 4 images of 10k.
Downgrading to Joomla 1.5.15 is not an option for me.
Anyone any idea?
Thans,
Hans

So I hope that the uploader will work one day
I hope too !! Phoca Galery is a great component. The only thing for me that does'nt work well is that java uploader.
I'm using an iMac and Safari / Firefox.
Thank you for the component

Hi, I am not developer of the Java applet, so this doesn't depneds on me. But in Joomla! 1.6 and Phoca Gallery 3.0.0 new multiple uploader was implemented.
