Re: User folder was not defined

I'm still having some trouble here. When I setup a new CATEGORY, I am creating a folder in /images/phocagallery/, in this case /images/phocagallery/school/ and I have a category named "school". I can go in and upload a picture from the Joomla Administrator, but when I try to do it from the Front End, I get the message "Defined User Folder Does Not Exist".

Now, when I edit my CATEGORY, and try to click the FOLDER button, the dialog pops up and I see my image folders listed. If I click on the SCHOOL folder, it navigates into that folder but then all I get is a message, "there is no folder" even though I can navigate there via FTP client and see that there is a picture in that folder along with the thumbnail folder.

Thanks so much for any help. :?

If you see the school folder in the modal box, you can:

- click on the folder (you go for subfolders, if there are no subfolder, you get the message)
- click on the green arrow, in this case, the name of school folder will be pasted into the input box, then just save the category...)

Ah Ha! I just didn't get that the smaller arrows were what made the "selection" of the folders. Thanks so much!! It works like a champ now that I know it just wants the folder name and not the full path I was trying to enter manually. :D

Hi, if user creates a main category in UCP, then this category is set as owner category. If user wants to upload images in category view, then the category needs to have set the folder.

Hi Jan,

looks like you are our Champion!
But now if I have only two categories on my site called Trophy Takers & 2010
How do I get my users to just upload their pictures to those categories? I don't want them to upload into their own directories?

Many thanks

Hi, you can set upload rights for the categories in category edit (for different users)

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload

the folder needs to be set in category edit.

Hi,
so if understand this right, if user creates from front-end new subcategory, he can't upload images until it's in administration module set the Owner Folder?

Is there really no way to set up so when user creates new subcategory, can upload multiple images with java plugin, and no such message :x ("User folder was not defined") is displaied?

Thx, J

Hi, the owner folder is set if user creates main category - automatically.

So there are two ways:

- the owner folder is set for main category by admin
- the owner folder is automatically created when user creates main folder in ucp
