Hi, try to enable debug mode to see if there is no problem while getting data from database.

On the frontpage when I try to open the gallery:

Code: Select all

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /customers/salamanders.nl/salamanders.nl/httpd.www/components/com_phocagallery/models/categories.php on line 138
In the admin section when I choose images:

Code: Select all

Warning: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /customers/salamanders.nl/salamanders.nl/httpd.www/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 344

Warning: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /customers/salamanders.nl/salamanders.nl/httpd.www/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 344
And when I choose categories:

Code: Select all

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /customers/salamanders.nl/salamanders.nl/httpd.www/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/models/phocagallerycs.php on line 126

Hi, seems like there is some problem with getting the data from database (maybe still some table or column is missing there) but in such case the debug mode should return problems with database :-(

So what should I do here? Is everything lost?

It's kind of a bummer that it's possible to lose everything when you do a simple upgrade...

Thanks for the reply, but I guess in some freak accident it didn't work out. So we have lost everything, since I don't have the knowledge on how to get it back in the admin menu.

I'm having a similar issue...on the images page I get this error where the images are:
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/garraf2/public_html/joomla/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 344
But, like coendeurloo said, I can see the categories in the Thumbnail Creation drop box. On the Categories page, I get:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/garraf2/public_html/joomla/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/models/phocagallerycs.php on line 126
I know all of the info is there, something just needs to be fixed somewhere for it all to display. I'm trying this next:

Okay...I found a solution for me. I did not do that link (editing the databases myself scares me...;) )What I did was re-installed the com_phocagallery_v2.6.2.zip again, then a screen came up to install or upgrade (it didn't the first time I installed it for some reason), and I clicked upgrade. When I did that, it prompted me to update the database, which of course I did. When that was complete, everything seems to be working.

coendeurloo, have you tried that?

You sir, are my hero.

When I did this before I just got a blank page after uploading the install file. Now I had the same problem again, but when I tried uploading the install file a second time, it randomly loaded and I had the option to install and upgrade, I chose upgrade and BOOM it all worked,

THANKS!!

I had the same problem when updating with the Software Updater from Intellispire.

Thank you SO MUCH for your help- uploading and UPDATING again worked.

Reminder: after that is done:

After upgrade of Phoca Gallery version 2.5.x (and older) to 2.6.x go to Administration - Components - Phoca Gallery - Users and click on Authorize All button. Because in 2.6.x there is a new feature (authorize images), you need to make all images, which were added before this version, authorized to display them in the frontend.
