Multiple accessibility issues with Phoca Gallery

Post by eddie_konczal »

We are running the latest version of Joomla! (3.9.4) and the latest versions of these Phoca Gallery extensions:
  • Phoca Gallery Administrator Component 4.3.15
Phoca Gallery Image Module Site Module 4.3.11
Phoca Gallery Tree Module Site Module 4.3.11
We are encountering the following accessibility issues:

1. Links must have discernible text

This appears to be the result of a missing "alt txt" for the arrow icon.

Examples: 2. "Powered by Phoca Gallery" text lacks contrast:

Examples: 3. id attribute value must be unique

This seems to occur because we have 2 Phoca Gallery Image Modules appearing on the page:

https://english.rutgers.edu/academics/u ... ssays.html

Is there any way to resolve these issues, or does Phoca need to fix them?

Thanks,
Eddie

Hi,

3) the module is one instance module, so only one should run on the site

1) Which arrow function you mean exactly, I don't see any arrows on the site

2) for users who have donated to Phoca are somehow helped the project, there is an option to remove the powered by links.

If you look at:

https://english.rutgers.edu/academics/u ... -2016.html

the first image in the gallery is an arrow icon. That is missing alt txt.

Thanks; upgrading to Phoca Gallery Component 4.1.8 solved the missing "alt txt" for the arrow icon!
