File ordering

Hello,
I would like to ask what exactly mean ordering item? It is item at File between Category and Filename. I thing, that the item doesn't work well.

I am asking because I wanted to used ordering item to order files at category. I used multiple add files to category. It caused, that some important files are last at category. I need important files like the first at category. How can I sort files in category how I want?

Hi, can you paste a screenshot of what do you exactly mean?

Generally in Joomla! you can move items in administration up and down - so you can set the ordering of the items. If you set that the files will be ordered by ordering, this means they will be ordered by the ordering you have set in administraiton (through moving file items)

Thank you for your answer. I don't know, where I made mistake, but today morning ordering by (through moving file items) works. I didn't have the three dots enabled. Ok, it was night and I was maybe tired. :-)
