Deleting files in front end keeps them the cpanel

Hi,
Just noticed that when a user deletes an uploaded file in front end, it removes it from the list, but the file remains in CPANEL which then results in a File already exists error when trying to upload the same file again. (after it has been deleted)

Why does it not totally delete a file when a user deletes it in front end?

thanks

PS: New to Phoca Download, and trying to setup a Teacher uploading files in Categories (as Classrooms) for students to download.
I managed to achieve this, but noticed that it keeps the files even after deletion.

Hi, see similar posts in this forum. Mostly you can upload files to your webserver with different methods and use the source file on more places in system. Even in Phoca Download you can use more items in different categories and one source file on server. This is, why Phoca Download does not delete the source files.

You can change it in Options, just enable the paramet "Delete existing files"
