Issues with login redirect

Post by narain.rajat »

We are using the Phoca Downloads extension.

To monitor the downloads, we have set the option requiring login for downloads.

We have also created our own article page which lists the downloads.

All works perfectly when the downloads are accessed from within the site.

However, we also have a blog which resides on a different url. When we embed the download link on a blog post of this external site, and a user clicks on the link, the user is directed to the login page of the site.

So far, so good.

The problem is that, upon login, the page redirects to the file download link without the query string. Thus, instead of initiating the download automatically, it presents a default download category page built by the phoca download component.

Ideally, it should have redirected to the download link with the query string, and the download window should have popped up. Can anyone help?

If it does not redirect to the download link, we would at the least like it to redirect to the downloads article page that we created, instead of the default category page that phoca download creates.

Can someone help please. Thank you.

Hi, to display downloads in content article or in blog, you should use the Phoca Download plugin. Where you can link to the files but you can use just own links (copied from component) and you can copy the direct link to download or the link to category view - link to view where the download files will be listed.

I don't know what exactly you mean with "query sting"?
