Entries not showing up

Post by daJFS »

Hi!

I updated a very old instance of the guestbook to, first ver v3.0.12, then to 4.0.2 after I updated to J4. Everything looks good, backend and frontend show no errors. Now I tried to post a comment and nothing happened, the page is refreshed but the comment doesn't show up. I tried this with different captchas and a standard template, always the same behaviour.

Any ideas where to look?

Thanks JFS

Hi, is the comment displayed in administration? Did you follow these guides:

Hi!

I did some more investigations and went through the update guide, which helped a lot.

It's now possible to add an entry to the guestbook and this entry appears now in the administration. Now I have a different problem, when trying to publish the entries, nothing happens, it just stays unpublished. This only happens with new entries, old entries are published.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Edit: When publishing the entry 'I get the message: '1 item successfully published'. Unpublishing old entries is poosible publishing again doesn't work

Hi, when you set that new posts should be published, and some new post is added, is it published in frontend?

What exactly do you mean with: "Unpublishing old entries is poosible publishing again doesn't work" - this is about the old entries?

This still seems like some problem when migrating

No, they don't show up. See the screenshot
  • 1 New entries show up in the posts list
    2 they are not published
3 when publishing, I get this message, but they remain in unpublished state

Exactly, this is about the old/existing entries from before the migration. They are displayed in the frontend and look fine. As soon as I unplublish one of them, they disappear in the frontend and can't published again in the backend. The same behaviour as the new posts.

Thanks for the help so far

The only one why is to debug the model when changing the published feature, to test if it really gets right data

I got in running now, I guess the SQL statement when exporting from the old page was the problem.

Thanks for the help
