can't delete category

I have forgotten to delete image and category through component before moving and re-naming the files in FTP.
Now I wanna delete categories in phoca gallery component but it doesn't work, says

"Category(ies): 'XXXX' cannot be removed as it contains (they contain) Items. There may currently be Image(s) within the Category which you must delete first."

even i restore the files with original floders and file names, they are not shown in "images" anymore, but the category is still there...

what should I do now in order to delete category ?

Hi, first you need to remove all the images from the category - there must be some because while deleting category the test tries to find some - if they are not displayed in your admin, try to load the in e.g. phpmyAdmin and delete them directly in the database
