Always show in Categories View

Post by viperappie »

Hi
I have Categories organised in Sub-Categories, three levels deep.
The top-Category is accessed via a menu-item. This shows the sub-categories in Categories-view. (Categories listed vertically with description behind it)
When clicking a sub-category, the next view of categories is NOT listed in Category-View but as horizontal icons. How can I define that any Category that is clicked, and holds other sub-categories, are opened and viewed in Categories-view as well, until I reach my images??

thanks,
Ab van Lenten

Hi, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... d-glossary

the category view can display:
images, subcategories and parent categories and this can be displayed or not (depends on settings) and it can be displayed at the bottom (categories view in category view) or in content, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... parameters

Hi Jan
Thanks for your reply.
I tried the setting Caterogries view in Category view, but that didn't really do what I wanted.
And I couldn't find any example in the help documentation.
I'll try to explain more in details, hope you can help, and if not, it still is a great component!

I have my cateroties ordered like this and have put them in a menu structure the same way under Album (It's in dutch):

-Zeenaaktslakken
  • - Draadslakken
    - Sterslakken
When I click Draadslakken directly from the menu, I get the categories that are specified in "Show Catogories" listed vertically with the description behind it, just as I want it.
When I click Zeenaaktslakken directly from the menu, it shows the catogories Draadslakken, Sterslakken, also listed vertically with the description behind it, still ok
But when I then click on Draadslakken in that opened view, then I get all categories in Draadslakken listed horizontally, without discription.
I would like to have it listed the same way as I choose it from the menu, vertically with description behind it.

So shortly, when I click a Category from a menu-item, then it shows sub-categories vertically, and when I then click one of those sub-categories, then the next sub-categories are listed horizontally.

Please have look at my site http://www.viperappie.nl and try it yourself to see what I mean.

Many thanks

Hi, categories view display images in columns (can be changed in options or per css), category view displays float boxes (rows)

see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... d-glossary

To display images in the row - just create one main category and all other as subcategories and create a link to this category
