Hi, you need to create menu link for phoca documentation, so then Phoca Documentation links get the Itemid and they get the menu link alias then...

I went to Main Menu. I hit the New button. I selected Phoca Documentation. Then selected Section List. Typed in Title and Alias. Is this how you created a menu link for Phoca Documentation?

if so, i created a menu link for phoca documentation, but when i click on the links under the Most Viewed Documents or links under Category, it gave me component/content/article/whatever the document is...

How does Article Itemid work? I input the phoca documentation menu ItemID but that didn't work either.

Hi, yes such way the menu link is created, then you should get Itemid and the links should be created by this Itemid ?

Can I see the site, where this occurs?

Hi Jan

First of hats off to you for such a grtt component. I am having exactly the same problem as stated above by vfx. I also followed exactly the same steps and everything seems to be running fine. What the problem is that.. the URL do not luk good with SEF enabled. I m using Joomla 1.5 built in SEF.

On clicking a section inside the phoca documentation the URL is seen as :
http://localhost/<menu alias>/section/<section ID>-<section alias>

And on clicking any category inside that section..the displayed URL is:
http://localhost/<menu alias>/category/<categoryID>-<category alias>

Similarly clicking any article inside that category the displayed URLis:
http://localhost/component/content/arti ... -<category alias>/<articleID>-<article alias>

Can these URLs be corrected by Article Item ID parameter of the phoca documentation menu?

Hi, in fact this is a problem, because Phoca Documentation is "only" the list of articles, but links to article goes to com_content...

In fact the link change the component from Phoca Documentation to Joomla! Content component.

See Phoca Documentation:
Link to all sections:
https://www.phoca.cz/documentation
Link to section:
https://www.phoca.cz/documentation/secti ... ca-gallery
Link to category:
https://www.phoca.cz/documentation/categ ... -component
Link to article:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... stallation

In fact the Itemid is changed there (between phoca documentation and com content) and the itemid is taken from content menu link (this menu link can be included in menu group which is hidden - which means the menu link will be not displayed but will be active (published) and the link will take the itemid from this menu link.

instead of component/content/ you get menu alias "documents"

Hi Jan

I did not understand your work around.
My current article URLs for phoca point to:
http://localhost/component/content/arti ... -<category alias>/<articleID>-<article alias>

Do you mean to create a menu item (disabled) of type external link pointing to ->
http://localhost/component/content/arti ... -<category alias> and then put this dummy menu id in the phoca menu?
So that the articles take the alias of this menu item?

I tried but it didnt work fr me ( I got a 500: view not found error in article).. not sure if I correctly understood your solution.

Hi, yes you need to add dummy menu link and add it to menu group which you will unpublish (but the menu link must be published - as described in the articles)
