JUpload error when access with Mac

Post by kaba101 »

We thank to use the superior gallery.

We have a error when access to Phocagallery page with Mac. :x

At first time access , Phocagallery shows message as following.
This applet was signed by "JUpload," but Java cannot verify the
authenticity of the signature's certificate. Do you trust this certificate ?

Click Trust to run this applet and allow it unrestricted access to your
computer. Click Don't Trust to run this applet with standerd Java
restrictions.
After both of selections (certificate or NOT certificate) error massage is shown.
Error during applet initialization!
Hava a look in your Java console.
With windows PC we have no problems.

Please teach where of us is wrong.

Hey guys, any resolution to this issue? I just spent 20 hours implementing Phoca, and now my client on a Mac gets this same error. HELP! :x

Hello Jan,

I love your gallery component. Just found the same issue... for the first I will teach the people who have to work on a Mac how to use FTP to upload hundreds of photos. Should be okay for them.

But, I just had a look at sourceforge and it seems that JUPLOAD updated today. Maybe the new version does the job on a mac :-)

Kind regards, Martin

Update: replacing wjhk.jupload.jar with the new one doesn't solve the problem

If I start to get my first white hairs I have to thank MacOS for this. This OS really sucks :x

Even with the flash I have my problems on a Mac. But finally I found an uploader (Flash based) that works fine on a Mac. Maybe it is interesting for you to have look at Joomla Flash Uploader from Michael Dempfle, Munich. I just managed to upload ten images with 30 MB in total and sizes between 1000 and +6000 px width and resize them all to 640 px in one single step and less than a minute

Ran into a similar problem. Client reported not being to create a new gallery item because the image button would not let her see the phocogallery folders anymore. She would get an error that said:
"error during initiation. Have a look in your java console."

She is using a OS X 10.5.8 and it didn't work on FF or Safari.
After applying all OS updates, java updates, and having the newest browsers still didn't work.
Using Phocagallery 2.2. (updating was going to be the next try to fix this)

Solved problem by downloading the newest version of Opera and using it to work with phocagallery.
http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=mac
:) Not a real fix, but will work in the meantime.

Afterthought:
It was strange that using a computer with the same OS X 10.5.8 as the client's we had no trouble on our end and couldn't replicate the problem on any other computer/OS in our office.
